HCAC Community

Home

Horsham Community Action Centre (HCAC) is a showcase example of a community taking action to improve the quality of life for all our citizens.

HCAC has been developed from community needs as identified through the Horsham North Community Engagement Project.

The concept of HCAC began early 2007 as part of the newly established Horsham North Community Engagement project. Residents of Horsham North formed a group to look at what the wants and needs of the Horsham North were. A community survey was completed in December 2006 and by February 2007 there was significant evidence gathered to suggest the need for a facility / centre that can respond to the needs of the community. Horsham Community Action Centre will offer a community information service at its new Enterprise Hub after Citizens Advice Bureau Wimmera Mallee, closed its doors in December 2008. The Action Centre pans to redevelop a similar service in February 2009 as part of a range of community enterprises taking place in Horsham North. These initiatives will include an Internet Cafe, a recording studio, community meeting rooms and the further development of the computer recycling program. Residents interested in becoming involved as volunteers are welcome can. CONTACT US for further information.
